All About Mrs. Bulla
Hello Farmington Woods families! I am Jocelyn Bulla and from the time I was 8 years old I knew I wanted to be a teacher. I would play school with my sister and cousins growing up. Then I spent my teenage and young adult years working at summer camps and babysitting. Through all of these experiences I noticed that playing and learning with kids made my heart happy.
I decided after high school to pursue my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education followed by a Masters degree in Library Media and Educational Technology from Western Kentucky University. After graduation I taught first grade for 2 years in Kentucky before moving to North Carolina in 2005. It's so hard to believe that I have been at Farmington for 17 years. It must be true that time flies when you are having FUN! My teaching experiences include 1st grade, 2nd grade and 3rd grade. This 2022 school year begins my 20th year of teaching. Whew! Ok now I’m feeling old!
Next, I would like to introduce you to my dear ones, my family. My husband Jon and I have been married for 17 years. We have 2 sons Henry who is a 8th Grader and Alec is 6th Grader. We also have 3 furry members of our family...a curious cat named Alvin, and a 2 cuddly dogs named Max and Alvin.
I am so very thrilled to be your child's teacher. I take my job of teaching to heart and value your child's education. I am so excited that I get to spend the school year with your child. One of the many things I look forward to is building a partnership with you and your child. I truly believe that parents and teachers together share a great responsibility when impacting a child. Please consider me your counterpart in this endeavor.
Together this school year your child and I will embark on daily engaging learning adventures with others in our classroom community of learners. Your child will be challenged to take chances, become confident, and achieve our learning goals. I am ready and excited to be a part of your child’s learning.
